At 10 am we started to gather in front of the Colombian Consulate in Miami. Quite shyly at the beginning, people arrived with some banners, T-shirts, and flags… and I don’t remember what moment I saw myself surrounded by a lot of people united toward an only Hymn, an only sentiment, an only reason. To contempt violent actions, kidnappings, and illegal armed groups. People vibrated with an only aim, your skin just chilled at seeing so many people from your country so far away, singing songs which remind us we are so Colombian and how our country’s suffering hurts us.

The young, adults, and people of all ages gathered in front of the Colombian Consulate in Miami. It was really exciting, we wait for two hours until they announced the march’s route, 3 blocks around, and singing our national anthem, waving our flags and yelling NO MORE FARC, NO KIDNAPPINGS, I AM COLOMBIA… The march started!
Someone said the number of Colombians at that place this morning was similar to the number of Colombian captive by FARC TODAY, at the mountains… KIDNAPPED.
It makes me so happy to have been part of this world rally against kidnappings, I feel I was part of something huge and it also makes me so fucking proud to be a Colombian…
