The unexpected extradition of 14 important paramilitary bosses to the United States galvanized again the so-called “parapoliticians” and covers with a smoke screen the re-election fraud.

With the 4 April demonstration the issue of a coming release of Colombian-French former presidential candidate Íngrid Betancourt, or at least, the medical treatment scheduled unilaterally by the President of France, is over.

It was a march quite different from the one on 4 February. Here, it was not the anger only against one armed organization, but against all the violence which took this country over, against the lack of memory, against indifference, against impunity, against corruption, against anything which has made Colombia a worldwide example of violence.

The International Criminal Court is not a joker to use to threat, to get rid of someone or simply to show you’re doing something.

As hours pass by, Colombia crisis with Venezuela and Ecuador gets worse and the initial good sense by Colombian government is turning into a rowdy spirit which does nothing to its solution.

Never before in Colombian history people had demonstrated this way against something in particular. On 4 February they did against an armed group that, after its degradation, became a criminal business, setting itself up not only as a disgrace for the country, but also for humanity. The neighbourhood is nervous. The 4 February demonstration spoils their plans. With what face will they continue their efforts to sell the world the altruist spirit of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), if the same people which they claim to represent rejects them publicly, pointing them as what they are, a group that violates the Geneva Conventions sistematically and whose degradation transformed a social revolution into a latrine with the most basic instincts?
